In 2016, Dickinson Architects provided design services for the Courtyard Marriott in Augusta, Georgia. The 7-story hotel will encompass a large open lobby space, fitness room, meeting spaces with a partition wall, back-of-house services, 132 guestrooms, and a roof top restaurant with outdoor terrace. The aesthetic of the design is elegance in modesty using traditional masonry materials, but with contemporary architectural lines. Additionally, the hotel will be connected at the second floor to an adjacent parking structure by a pedestrian bridge spanning 9th Street. The appearance of the bridge will take on attributes of both the hotel and the existing parking structure.
