A master plan is always important, especially on a project like this where there are already structures in place. It’s the most critical aspect of design. It affects everything -- access, aesthetics, flow -- there are just so many moving parts. At Reid, we had to take into account both the immovable objects -- the church sanctuary and a historic home -- as well as the need for vastly expanded facilities. The answer was a balance between building out and up. |
